Assistant Director of Media Relations
POSITION SUMMARY:
• Assistant Director of Media Relations is responsible for executing media campaigns for FITZ & CO's network of international art world clients
• Assistant Director of Media Relations supports goals and initiatives of Media Relations Team
• Reports to: Director of Media Relations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
• Plan and execute media relations campaigns for major international art world clients
• Pitch features, reviews, and news stories to newspapers, magazines, online media, broadcast media, in local, national, and international markets
• Write press releases and media plans
• Organize press events
• Research new media contacts, grow relationships between FITZ & CO and key media
• Meet with clients to assess media relations strategy and provide media reports
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Current clients: Primary client contacts, for regular reporting, communication, and meetings
• Media: Editors of major magazines, newspapers, and online media / Critics and writers for major magazines, newspapers, and online media / Producers and hosts of broadcast TV and radio / All media covering arts, culture, fashion, lifestyle, business, and finance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides support and shares information and ideas with members of Media Relations Team
• Helps train new members of team
• Proofreads and approves final version of press releases and client reports before distribution
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work is performed primarily in the FITZ & CO New York office, with travel as required
• The nature of this role requires Assistant Director of Media Relations to be available often outside the company’s normal office hours (M-F, 10-6)
• Must adopt and make daily use of office systems such as time tracking (Bill4Time) and CRM (SalesForce)
REQUIREMENTS:
• College graduate with 5-7 years of experience in fine arts, public relations, communications, or a related area
• An existing network of media contacts, art world contacts, and industry connections
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Senior Account Executive - Media Relations
PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY:
• Senior Account Executive supports and executes media relations campaigns for FITZ & CO's network of international art-world clients
• Reports to: Director of Media Relations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
• Support Directors of Media Relations on accounts
• Execute media relations campaigns for major international art world clients
• Pitch features, reviews, and news stories to newspapers, magazines, online media, broadcast media, in local, national, and international markets
• Write media releases and media materials
• Proofread media releases and other PR materials
• Organize media events
• Update database and mailing lists of media and art world contacts
• Research new media contacts, grow relationships between FITZ & CO and key media
• Edit images using Photoshop
• Organize images and captions

Fulfill photography requests from media
• Recruit, train and manage interns
• Use social media as directed by Social Media AE

Junior Account Executive - Media Relations
PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY:
Junior Account Executive assists and supports media relations campaigns for FITZ & CO's network of international art-world clients. Junior Account Executive is expected to learn media relations strategy, how to execute media campaigns, and account work. Junior Account Executive is to implement FITZ & CO’s systems and processes for all aspects of his/her work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
Administrative Support
• Track press placements. Oversee creation and delivery of clip books of all media coverage at close of projects.
• Oversee organization of images. Fulfill photography requests from media per account
leaders’ instruction.
Media Outreach
• Make telephone calls to media, both initial outreach and follow up.
• Write correspondence and media materials.
• Write and send pitches and build relationships with editors.
• Write and proofread press releases, and other PR documents.
• Oversee frequent HTML e-mailings of press releases.
Events
• Process RSVPs for events, using spreadsheets and databases. Work at events.
Social Media
• Use social media as directed by Marketing Team.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Media Relations Team and Interns.
• Current clients: reporting, communicating, arranging meetings. Attending some client meetings.
• Media: Target contacts for pitching and follow up calls.

Marketing Intern
POSITION SUMMARY:
FITZ & CO is seeking a motivated intern who is passionate about art and has a strong desire to gain a greater understanding of the contemporary art market and its major players to join the Development and Event Marketing team. We offer a unique opportunity to learn about a very important facet of the business of art by playing an integral role in the planning, account coordination and special events management of campaigns for visual arts organizations and businesses that have interest in reaching this key audience. You will work directly with the Vice Presidents of Business Development and Events & Partnerships, Account Executives supervising Audience Development and Events & Partnerships, as well as the Directors of Social Media and Marketing in various aspects of day-to-day account management that would include research for the development of VIP events and guest lists, implementing social media strategies, outreach to museum groups, collectors, art advisers, and art world personalities, database administration, and administrative support for all.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Work will be performed in the New York Office
• Strong Attention to detail.
• Successful candidates would have completed or would be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Public Relations, Communications or a related area.
• Strong communication, telephone and computer skills are a must

Media Relations Intern
POSITION SUMMARY:
FITZ & CO is seeking an organized and dedicated intern to join the media relations team. He or she should have strong verbal and written communication skills, and will be responsible for day-to-day account support, tracking coverage and office administration for various arts and culture clients. The ideal candidate will be extremely detailed, a hard worker and passionate about the arts. This internship offers an introduction to the fast-paced world of public relations for international and world-renowned art clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Current college students, graduate students or recent graduates in the field of public relations, communications, or fine arts, preferably with experience in a PR firm or in the PR office of a Museum or arts organization
• Independent self-starter; ambitious hard-worker
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Social Media Intern
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Social Media Intern at FITZ & CO will report to the Social Media Account Executive and the Marketing team. The role spans having an active role in the ongoing development of the FITZ & CO brand as well as working alongside our team for some of our clients. If you are passionate about art and love social media, this is the ideal opportunity to work closely with the best of the art world in New York and around the world.
RESPONSIBILTIES (include but are not limited to the following):
General Activities
• Monitor company and client accounts and mentions on various social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others
• Assist in scheduling and populating profiles
• Explore the brainstorming and strategy processes of social media marketing
• Track social media for emerging trends / stories and best practices
• Manage regular profile updates and post history
• Learn about and assist with additional social media and PR duties
Community Interaction
• Maintain and expand a master list of key users, social sites and social content around Art & Culture
• Help identify and engage topic influencers and brand advocates
Reporting Activities
• Work with our conversation monitoring tools to track online conversations and sentiment
• Compile monthly reports on all interactions, with recommendations for possible course correction
CANDIDATE:
• Passionate about the art world, branding, technology and social media
• Extensive knowledge of social media channels, functionality, and tech space through managing ones own online presence. (Ideally candidate will have experience managing a group, business, or brands social media presence as well, but this is not required)
• Excellent written skills, especially in context of creating social media content
• Excellent visual skills, from social media photography to basic Photoshop and photo editing app skills
• Willingness to learn, think creatively and execute quickly
• Familiarity with web analytics tools
• Experience with video / video editing programs a plus
