Account Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Media Relations
PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY:
Account Coordinator assists and supports media relations campaigns for FITZ & CO's network of international art-world clients. Account Coordinator is expected to learn media relations strategy, how to execute media campaigns, and account work. Account Coordinator is to implement FITZ & CO’s systems and processes for all aspects of his/her work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
Administrative Support
• Provide administrative assistance to busy Media Relations Team on many accounts.
• Recruit, train and manage interns.
• Track press clippings daily. Prepare clipping reports for clients every morning. Provide clip books of all media coverage at close of projects.
• Update database and mailing lists of press and art world contacts. Research new publications and media contacts.
• Edit images using Photoshop. Organize images and captions.
• Fulfill photography requests from media per account leaders’ instruction.
Media Outreach
• Make telephone calls to media, both initial outreach and follow up.
• Write correspondence and media materials.
• Write listings pitches and build relationships with listings editors.
• Proofread press releases, and other PR documents.
• Oversee frequent HTML e-mailings of press releases.
Events
• Process RSVPs for events, using spreadsheets and databases. Work at events.
Social Media
• Use social media as a marketing tool. Develop social media marketing strategy.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Media Relations Team and Interns.
• Current clients: reporting, communicating, arranging meetings.
• Media: Listings editors and media contacts for follow up calls.
COMPANY CULTURE:
• Work performed primarily in FITZ & CO’s New York office. While traveling and on client visits, work performed remotely by laptop/tablet and Blackberry.
• Account Coordinator is required to be available often before and after company’s normal office hours (M-F, 10-6), and on weekends.
• Must adopt and make daily use of office systems such as time-tracking (Bill4Time) and CRM (Salesforce).
REQUIREMENTS:
• College graduate with 1-2 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, and fine arts, preferably at a PR firm or in the PR office of a Museum or arts organization.
• Independent self-starter; ambitious hard-worker.
• In-depth knowledge of the media, specifically art-world and cultural media and key writers, editors, producers.
• Existing art-world media contacts.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Mac-savvy.
• Technical skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Vocus, Salesforce.com, and Bill4Time.
• Previous experience with HTML templates and creating bulk email distributions.
• Knowledge of social media marketing.
• Foreign language skills a plus.
COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with experience.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/POSITION SUMMARY
FITZ & CO's interns play an integral role in day-to-day account management and office administration. Positions are available with both the Media and Development teams.
REQUIREMENTS
• Current college students, graduate students or recent graduates in the field of public relations, communications, or fine arts, preferably with experience in a PR firm or in the PR office of a Museum or arts organization.
• Independent self-starter; ambitious hard-worker.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
